Acupuncture Helps Reduce Blood Lactate Levels in Basketball Elite Players After Exercise
Octubre 09, 2018 - Noticia en Lactato en el Deporte

This study analysed 36 elite basketball players who performed high-intensity exercises after which they had their blood lactate levels taken at 5 and 25 minutes after the exercise using a portable blood lactate analyser while they were in a sitting position. The results show that acupuncture significantly decrease their lactate levels.
Serum Lactate Levels Measured During CPR are Associated with Survival Outcomes
Junio 14, 2018 - Noticia en Lactato en Clínica

Wang et al. completed a retrospective observational study in a medical centre with patients who suffered an in-hospital cardic arrest between 2006 y 2012. The authors concluded that serum lactate levels measured during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was significantly associated with survival outcomes after adjusting for the confounding effects of multiple factors.
A decrease in blood lactate concentrations is associated with a better outcome in critical patients
Febrero 01, 2018 - Noticia en Lactato en Clínica

Vincent et al. evaluated a total of 96 studies where a decrease in lactate levels over time was consistently associated with lower mortality rates in all subgroups of patients. All groups showed relatively slow changes, so performing lactate measurements every 1-2 hours is probably sufficient in most severe conditions.
Serum Lactate Levels can Predict In-Hospital Mortality in Emergency Department Patients
Enero 16, 2018 - Noticia en Lactato en Clínica

Park et. al conducted a retrospective observational study where 14,015 patients who underwent lactate test at arrival at the Emergency Department were enrolled for final analysis. The authors concluded that a serum lactate level higher than 2.6 mmol/L predicted 30-day in-hospital mortality in unselected patients who were admitted to hospital after arriving at the Emergency Department.
Portable Lactate Analysers are Accurate in Emergency Patients with Sepsis
Octubre 20, 2017 - Noticia en Lactato en Clínica

This study analysed the accuracy of portable lactate analysers in patients with Sepsis admitted to ER. The measurements were compared with a laboratory analyser, and it was concluded that the correlation between both was good. Portable lactate analysers are a precise, fast and economical way to measure blood lactate levels.
Blood lactate levels in triage
Abril 28, 2017 - Noticia en Lactato en Clínica

Blood lactate levels can be used to correct the triage level and decide the priority of treatment and transportation even within the same triage level, hence preventing under-triage. This study was carried out with the Lactate Pro analyser, which has been validated to measure the blood lactate level accurately. This analyser has been replaced by the new and improved version: Lactate Pro 2.
Blood lactate levels are good predictors of the development of multiple system organ failure & d
Abril 25, 2017 - Noticia en Lactato en Clínica

This study, written by Bakker et al., indicates that the initial blood lactate levels and the duration of hyperlactatemia have an important prognostic value in septic shock. Serial measurements of blood lactate levels represent a helpful monitoring system to estimate the risk of organ failure and death.
Elevated Lactate Levels are Associated with Mortality in Patients with Sepsis and Septic Shock
Marzo 02, 2016 - Noticia en Lactato en Clínica

According to this study, carried out in Peru, lactate levels are associated with mortality in patients with Sepsis and Septic Shock. There are also significant differences between the survival curves according to lactate levels. In conclusion, serum lactate levels greater than 4 mmol/l are a high predictor of mortality.
Importance of Lactate as a Prognostic Factor in Patients with Septic Shock
Febrero 12, 2016 - Noticia en Lactato en Clínica

An elevated serum lactate level of more than 4.9 mmol/L was associated with increased mortality in patients with septic shock. Jasso-Contreras et al. indicate that the determination of serum lactate at admission in patients with septic shock could be used as a sensible and economic prognostic marker in these patients.
Elevated Lactate Levels are Associated with Increased ICU Mortality
Enero 29, 2016 - Noticia en Lactato en Clínica

The aimof this study was to better understand the predictive value of lactate in an intensive care setting. In conclusion, patients with high initial lactate were sicker on average than those with low initial lactate, they had longer ICU stays, and were more likely to have poor outcomes.
